How to Land a Forbes Feature in 2025
In honor of the new year, I'm offering a cheat-sheet to taking your client or brand to the next level.
We all want to level-up this year. I’ll be totally honest with my goals: I plan to take an online TikTok course because I need to master my game on the app. I also need to post more (I post a bit, but nowhere near what the successful content creators post). I also want to pick up 2-3 more freelance gigs in either journalism or copywriting. I want to speak on panels or podcasts related to beauty, social media, journalism—anything like that. And, of course, what would a professional year be without a viral moment? (either editorial, video or both). It’s also imperative I get my product-adorned one-bedroom apartment in order. Right now it’s looking like a giant walk-in closet. Anyone need to go shopping??
What are your professional goals for the year? I imagine getting your brand or clients leveraging media placements is among them. My defining professional moment of 2024 was landing my Forbes.com contributor gig in February. It has singlehandedly changed my life, and is something I will never take for granted. Since then, I’ve received countless feature pitches as you can imagine. I completely understand the magnitude of landing these features, and the pressure clients place on their teams to deliver. It brings me pure joy when I’m able to help out a friend or colleague with a lengthy profile that makes sense for the publication.
In honor of the new year, I want to offer you, my subscribers, firsthand insight into inching towards one of those impactful features. After all, I’d rather help a supporter than someone totally random. If you’re on the fence about paying for this, I assembled a template you can send your employer or client to request reimbursement for the invaluable information.
