Dahvi's Weekend Debrief (5/18/25)
The TikTok series (who TF did I marry-esque) I've been watching all day, wining + dining for a good cause and Katy Perry's downfall in real time
Ok, let me start by saying I’ve been completely enthralled by this random girl’s multi-part series on how she was completely duped by her boyfriend (who she happened to know from childhood and reconnected with later in life). If you have a little time to spare, it’s dishy, so go to her main page and decide where you want to begin. There are some posts about it before the series officially starts. She left us on a cliffhanger a few hours ago with Part 9. I keep checking back for updates. LMK what you think!
This weekend was relatively chill I guess you could say, except for last night. A bunch of friends came out for our friend Olivia’s annual Winemasters event at The Lot in Burbank. Some of the biggest restaurants and wineries from all over California come out to offer up bites and sips to guests, who purchase tickets in support of Cystic Fibrosis research (if you have a client who wants to participate next year LMK and I’ll connect you!). I’m not a big wine drinker these days, but it was all such high quality I actually felt fine. I sat at a really fun table with a bunch of friends and it was an “eat, drink, be merry” scenario.
Speaking of things I’m drinking, I’m in my electrolytes era and I’ve now nailed what I do and don’t like (open to recs, so feel free to chime in). I notice some are too powdery and don’t blend well with water. Some are too salty (*cough* LMNT - sorry!). I actually really do like the Blume SuperBelly Mango Passion Fruit, and I’m not just saying that because the brand sent me to Tulum with a bunch of editors and influencers. It’s really refreshing, zero sugar and blends perfectly with water.
Ok, I know I’ve said this before, but I’m obsessed with the Halara Flex High-Waisted Side Pocket Wide Leg Waffle Work Pants. It’s the one thing I learned about solely from TikTok Shop. I wore the green pants with this Saltwater Luxe sweater that I adore, and it was the comfiest (yet chic) look ever. I’m telling you, for work-wear or just comfy pants to wear with anything, I have them in five colors. It’s great because you can dress them up or wear with a tee or whatever. I get absolutely nothing by promoting these darn pants, but I simply just love them. They’ve helped elevate my style, too, because I have pants that fit me comfortably, they look flattering and they’re fun. Leading up to this purchase, I rarely wore pants because they’re typically so tight and so uncomfortable.
Has anyone been following Katy Perry’s disastrous concert journey on TikTok? It’s actually sad. Like today, I saw some more clips and actually felt bad for her. Someone in the comments said it feels like a cruise ship performance, and I spit out my water. I saw a clip today where she even changed the lyrics to “throw my social media away” instead of “phone away” in “Part of Me.” Like, her drawing attention to the hate isn’t helping. You can totally tell in these performances that she knows everyone’s mocking her—so she therefore seems to just give up and phone in these performances. It’s really cringe. That concert looks like the biggest s**tshow. And I feel like all the songs I once liked by her are tainted by her problematic persona. That and I’m kind of sick of most of them anyway. She’s super rich so she’ll be fine financially, but maybe this music thing isn’t really her schtick anymore. Are any of you diehard fans?
OK, with that I am signing off! I hope you had a great weekend. Let me know if you watch the TikTok series I suggested!
